    • Committed to breaking the silence and stigma by normalizing conversations on mental health.

    • Hosted mental health convening, with over 130 participants across sectors to address challenges, strengths, and areas of collaboration.

    • Premiered mental health video series to spotlight community partners and their services and programs.

    • Featured mental health corner in biweekly newsletter to uplift county resources..

    • Commissioned a series of reports by the Office of Legislative Oversight on the availability of behavioral health services for young people.

    • Hosting listening sessions with young people to raise awareness on mental health and services available.

    • Co-led the FAITH ZTA to assist faith-based institutions build affordable housing on their land.

    • Spearheaded the Tenant Protection and Notification Act which requires landlords to notify residents of fire safety plans, insurance, building maintenance, and other issues

    • Advanced rent stabilization to ensure predictability and stability for residents who rent protect affordability

    • Prioritized Mixed-Income Housing Community projects in the development review process

    • Supported the UMD Institute for Health Computing, and {need third thing} to grow the tax base

    • Supported new and existing small businesses

    • Secured local and state funding for businesses affected by the Purple Line construction and preserved nearby affordable housing

    • Supported the Drone as First Responder (DFR) Pilot Program to improve emergency response time through better call triage and worked to ensure the program protected residents' privacy and civil liberties

    • Championed the Late Night Lounges Closing Time and Late Night Safety Plan bills to enhance public safety in central business districts.

    • Testified in support of successful state legislation that increased penalties on exhibition driving and car meets, and authorized a pilot for automated enforcement of modified exhausts – “noise cameras”.

    • Work with community members to make sure the county is a safe, welcoming, and affirming place for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community

    • Requested the first Council report on Transgender Healthcare in Montgomery County and convened an unprecedented roundtable discussion with state and county officials and community leaders to discuss challenges faced in accessing life-saving gender-affirming healthcare

    • Secured $500,000 in capital funding for the County’s first LGBTQ+ health clinic

    • Secured the county’s first ever sustained funding for the MoCo Pride Center

    • Led the passage of the Bring Your Own Bag Bill to reduce the trash caused by plastic bags

    • Supported free RideOn and the transition of County fleet to electric and green hydrogen vehicles

    • Updated tree canopy laws to protect mature trees and promote more plantings

    • Supported expanded composting pilots and a county food scraps compost facility

    • Supported the first Pedestrian Master Plan so commuters have rapid, reliable, and safe transit options while taking climate action

    • Supported increased rooftop solar and resiliency hubs at county buildings

    • Convened various stakeholders to walk the most affected construction areas and focus on community needs.

    • PL?? Walk with Brooke – brought together residents, transportation depts and state comptroller. 

    • Regularly organizes safety walks with residents, businesses, and county and state transportation departments to address safety concerns traffic calming and other pedestrian and bike safety infrastructure installed. 

    • Advocated for the more than $224 million to complete the construction of Charles W. Woodward High School with full amenities

    • Led and passed legislation to establish discounted parking permits for employees of child care facilities and unhoused-serving nonprofits

    • Introduced a bill to increase property tax credits for child care facilities

    • Organized annual youth block party, “Buckets and Beats,” in Silver Spring with public and private partnerships that connected hundreds of youth to community programs

    • Supported the expansion of Excel Beyond the Bell to additional Title 1 elementary schools
